I may have a solution for you, but we no longer carry an electric winch from Fulton like the XLT. However, the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch - Wire Rope - Roller Fairlead - 4,400 lbs # BDW15019 comes with 55-1/2 feet of 7/32" wire rope and is very similar.

Yes, the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch with TUFFPLATE Finish, # DL15440, would be a great winch for a boat trailer, especially a larger boat. The TUFFPLATE Finish makes the winch acceptable for marine use and the two speed gearing will help winch the boat in fast until the majority of the load is applied and then the handle can be moved to the lower gear and will give power to finish winching the boat onto the trailer.

The Shelby Trailer Winch 5409B is a single speed brake hand winch with a 2,100 lb capacity. It was discontinued some time ago. In order to replace this winch I recommend using the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch part # DL15721. Generally when picking out a winch for a boat trailer the ratio is 2 to 1 meaning you would need a winch with half the capacity as the weight of the boat. Since the winch is only pulling the boat, you don't really need to consider the trailer weight. You will need to find the weight capacity of the hitch as well, and compare the capacities, using the lowest limiting factor. I have a recommendation for you as the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mount Storage Bracket # BDW20154 is only designed to hold a winch when not in use. It does not have the structure required to operate a winch. For a 12,000LB Winch # BDW10040 you will need a receiver like the Draw-tite # 41990 to have enough strength for the winch to operate at full load.
